Asterisk VoIP

VoIP is part of a larger telecommunication system. Often VoIP is used a part of least cost routing, interfacing with legacy PABX systems, or extending those systems to support VoIP hardware and software.

  1. Integration of voip with current pabx and telecommunication systems.
  2. Extend and enchance features of current system with voip hardware, software and services, such as, intelligent call routing, music on hold, intelligent auto-attendant, queueing and after-hours services.

Our flagship product includes the asterisk IP-PBX system on the linux platform offering security, stability, scalability and extended features.

Asterisk

Asterisk is an IP-PBX offering a highly flexible and cost-effective approach to voice and data transport over IP, TDM, and Ethernet architectures. When used in conjunction with Digium hardware it can offer additional connectivity including ONRAMPs (E1), FXO and FXS (PSTN and handsets).

Managed Solutions has used asterisk to overcome some unique problems or situations, here are some examples:

  • 8-port voicemail server to implement unique requirements (eg. length of prompts and other messages and voicemail via email).
  • 2-port E1 call recording server interfacing with legacy PABX.
  • 4-port E1 voip server interacing with and enhancing existing PABX and IP connectivity to international asterisk servers via IAX and VOIP providers. SIP handsets and softphones.
  • 1-port E1 (ONRAMP-20) bridging server connecting to a similar remote server via QOS supporting microwave for interfacing with existing PABX. Server also performed network and firewalling services. Also used 4-port FXO and FXS cards to bridge PSTN services for fax machines.
  • 4-port ISDN-BRI (ONRAMP-2) voip server extending legacy PABX with features such as voicemail, queues, voip LCR (least cost routing), SIP handsets and softphones, international IAX connectity to other asterisk servers.
  • 4-port FXO/FXS voip server with freepbx. Patched freepbx for Malaysia and tuned system for local conditions.

Equipment

Asterisk can be used to implement an entire PBX with IP and analog phones or as an addition to a current system to extend features and add voip connectivity. Asterisk is open source which makes it possible to add features or change behaviour.

Some examples of Digium hardware:

  • single and multiple port PRI (ONRAMP, E1)
  • single and multiple port FXO/FXS

We stock and supply other voip equipment including phones and softphones. managed solutions provides end-to-end voip, VPN, and internet services. In addition, we have telecommunication and tech support divisions. Our goal is providing complete solutions covering all IT and telecommunication aspects. Our telecommuncation team have key partners in both voip and traditional telecommunications suppliers.

VOIP Termination

We can help with choosing PSTN termination, phone numbers, pricing and plans in conjunction with our voip partners and other providers.
