Dialup Setup

Windows XP

  1. Turn on your computer. Wait for windows to finish loading.
    2. Click on the START button. Then select 'Control Panel'.
  2. Click on the START button. Then select "Control Panel".
    3. Click on the START button. Then select 'Control Panel'. Click on the START button. Then select 'Control Panel'.
  3. The Control Panel window should now be open and asking you to pick a category. Select the "Network and Internet Connections" or “Network Connections” category.
    4. Click on the START button. Then select 'Control Panel'.
  4. If "Network and Internet Connections" was selected it should ask to either Pick a Task or Pick a Control Panel icon. We want to pick the Control Panel icon called "Network Connections".
    5. Click on the START button. Then select 'Control Panel'.
  5. Use the RIGHT mouse button to click once on your dialup icon. A pop-up menu will appear...
  6. Using your LEFT mouse button, select "Properties" on the dropdown menu.
    7. Click on the START button. Then select 'Control Panel'.
  7. In the Dialup properties window, change the phone number.
  8. Click OK.
    9. Double click on the icon for your Dialup connection. Click on 'Dial'
  9. Double click on the icon for your Dialup connection. Click on "Dial"
  10. If Windows asks "Make the phone number change permanent?" answer "Yes"
  11. This should connect you with the new phone number.
